- Student Summer Research Awards – Applications are due March 5.
- Chairs were asked to remind students and faculty in their departments that applications for Student Summer Research Awards are due 3/5/2018. The number of awards allotted to the College isdependent upon the number of applications from students in the College.
- Sponsored projects is discussing how to use proposal stimulus money for next year.
- At the recent University Research Advisory Council (URAC) meeting, ORSP Director Simon Kim indicated that he is reviewing ORSP's allocation of internal funding to proposal stimulation and development. Currently, Colleges are allocated funds (CNSM receives $10,000) from ORSP to spend as they choose (CNSM created the Proposal Incentive Grant mechanism). ORSP may cease its practice of distributing funds to Colleges in favor of a centralized process of proposal stimulation, development and mentoring. Per consensus opinion of the CDC, Dr. Taylor will advocate for the continued allocation of funds to CNSM to be used as the College (CDC members with faculty input) deem appropriate. Also, Dr. Taylor will raise this issue for discussion at a future CDC meeting.
- Student Summer Research Awards – Applications are due March 5.
- Presidential Faculty Awards Discussion
- Dr. Martin-Hansen and Margaret Karteron stated that there are 50 CSULB awards per academic year. CNSM has 18 submissions. All submissions must be ranked by the committee, then reviewed by the Dean and then passed on to President Conoley.
