Council of Department Chairs

- Approve minutes from May 13 - Approved as amended
- Announcements
- ASM
- Budget updates on carryover coming soon (delayed by contracts)
- Contracts are done. Will do staff training for contracts
- Fiscal
- Analysis of college financing underway form 23-24
- Almost done with 24-25 analysis
- Being held up by GSI issues
- Is in good standing for 24-25
- AA is sweeping funds from other colleges. We hope they won't sweep money from us.
- 2% base budget cut this year
- But, Next year will be bad. 3% over the 2%
- We will try and get IRA to SCED and Earth Science.
- Operations
- Nominations for College RTP committee (needed soon). SCED has no one available.
- Volunteer process has gone smoothly, but change in how parking has gone out. Please be sure that volunteer process goes through Margaret as they need to be approved by Jeanine. Send forms to Margaret cc-ed to Tatiana
- September 20 following the research symposium will be the annual collegewide scholarship reception.
- 4:00pm-6:00pm
- Primarily set up for donors and recipients. Direct invites are going to the awards through BEACH scholarships. Research Program students are welcome, but not the main focus.
- Christina will send a list of invited donors.
- Development
- When Catharine returns please keep contacting Christina first as Catharine will be working on special projects.
- Targeted learning sessions question. Given how faculty are very important for certain donors, we were wondering about targeted learning sessions for faculty development 101.

- Time, Place, and Manner - protest policy from CO and university
- Growing enrollment - want to grow enrollment next year too: Looking at stateside summer as a way to do this.

- For Departments:
- Look by building and location through college documents.
- Look at contact information and make sure that it is reasonable.
- Departments may duplicate, but hope is most can be from what Safety is putting together.
- Departments need to have phone trees.

- RTP revision - are people doing anything in the fall? (question from PHYS)
- ERSC - scheduled an all day retreat in January
- SCED - waiting until a better draft from college
- College will have a good draft by October (we hope) because of timing. (Want election in the first or second week of October)
- BIOL - executive committee will work on it in the fall and retreat in January
- CHEM - RTP committee chair
- MATH - a totally disjoint committee from RTP. (important to have someone more junior)
