Strategic Communications Instructor Course
We use interpersonal communication skills every day, both inside and outside our organizations. Improved communication enhances our personnel and our profession, can reduce use of force, and improves officer safety.
This course provides the student with the minimum instructional topics for Strategic Communications required by the POST Perishable Skills Training Program. The intent of this course is to improve students’ ability to teach the minimum course requirements for the Strategic Communications PSP.
The course consists of hands-on/practical strategic communications training for instructors.
The ability to communicate effectively is an officer's greatest asset. This program enhances officer safety and promotes public confidence in law enforcement by modeling the four tenants of Procedural Justice: Voice, Neutrality, Respect, and Trustworthiness.
Upon completion of the course the instructor will have the core materials and instructional techniques to teach the Strategic Communications PSP.
