Field Training Program/S.A.C. Management

The Field Training Program SAC introduces the manager and supervisor to the personnel procedures, policies, and purposes of the Field Training Program and provides the initial formal and informal training specific to the agency and the day-to-day duties of its officers.

This course has been designed for those individuals who manage or supervise their agency's Field Training Program.

This program is a POST Mandate for anyone responsible for a Field Training Program, California Code of Regulations (CCR) 11 § 1004: (c) Field Training Supervisor/Administrator/Coordinator (SAC) Training Requirement. Every peace officer promoted, appointed, or transferred to a supervisory or management position overseeing a field training program shall successfully complete a POST-certified Field Training Supervisor/Administrator/Coordinator (SAC) Course (as set forth in Commission Procedure D-13) prior to or within 12 months of the initial promotion, appointment, or transfer to such a position.

Students will learn to recognize the primary principles of the Field Training and Evaluation Program. They will be able to apply these principles during practical exercises in a classroom environment. Students will be able to prioritize applicants' qualifications and establish a rank of selection for candidates.

Tuition

$447 - 24 hours, POST Plan IV

Plan IV reimbursement for this class is only available to Field Training Supervisors/Administrators/Coordinators who have been awarded a POST Supervisory Certificate (or are eligible for the Supervisory Certificate) and have been appointed by the department head (or designee) per CCR 11 § 1004 (a)(3). Attendees without record of a
POST Supervisory Certificate or who are ineligible will not be reimbursed by POST.
