In a normal year, over 60% of our campus emissions come from transportation. Help fight climate change by using a sustainable commute method!
Parking and Transportation Services at CSULB makes sustainability a driving force behind campus transportation programs. In close partnership with the campus Sustainability Task Force and the South Coast Air Quality Management District and in full support of the Climate Action Plan, the department works to mitigate traffic congestion and vehicle related greenhouse gas emissions through programs such as:
BUS
Discounted Long Beach Transit buses passes for qualified students, staff and faculty.
BIKE
The League of American Bicyclists has designated CSULB as a bicycle friendly university. With over 65 bike racks, 3 repair stations, 9 Long Beach Bike Share hubs on campus, and designated wheel paths, commuters can easily leave their cars at home and bike to campus. Learn more.

CAMPUS SHUTTLE
Our shuttles run on compressed natural gas which produce 70% less emissions than traditional diesel and gasoline fueled vehicles. Learn more.
CARPOOL
Campus commuters who carpool can hop in the HOV lanes and share the cost of gas.
CAR SHARE
Students, faculty and staff can reserve a campus Zipcar vehicle by the hour or by the day. Each reservation includes gas, insurance and up to 180 miles.
ELECTRIC VEHICLE CHARGERS
The campus currently has a total of 46 EV charging spaces on campus. By offering services that support cleaner transportation choices, Parking and Transportation Services, along with the campus community, reduce the university’s carbon footprint and takes purposeful steps toward a greener campus and world.
