Apply to NUFP
Application Process
CSULB students who meet the criteria below are invited to apply to be in the CSULB NUFP cohort and then submit their application to the national NUFP organization.
NASPA Undergraduate Fellows Program (NUFP) applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Be a full-time undergraduate student
- Have at least two more semesters of undergraduate education left at time of application
- Have a least a 2.5 GPA
- Have a strong desire to learn more about higher education and student affairs
- Identify as historically disenfranchised and underrepresented professionals in student affairs and/or higher education. This may include, but is not limited to, those of racial and ethnic-minority background, those having a disability and those identifying as LGBTQIA+.
The spring 2022 CSULB NUFP application is now open! The deadline to apply is Monday, May 2nd at 11:59 pm. Please follow these guidelines:
- Students must submit the CSULB campus-specific NUFP Fellow Application
- You will be asked to upload a copy of your transcript (official or unofficial) and your resume. Community College transfer students may submit the transcript from their Community College coursework.
- You will also be asked to submit one letter of recommendation from a faculty or staff member
- You will receive notification from the NUFP Committee. Once you have been notified on your status to the CSULB Fellow Cohort, the NUFP committee will help you complete part 2 of the application process: Joining the National NUFP Organization.
Students invited to join the CSULB NUFP Cohort will be then advised to apply to the national NUFP Organization. To apply you must:
- Locate your NASPA customer ID. If you do not have a customer ID, please create one, but do not purchase a membership.
- Submit your NUFP application. We ask that you please use your own answers plus the answers in the CSULB campus specific NUFP Fellow Application.
- Mentor Application Form (Will be provided to and completed by your assigned mentor)
- Fellow-Mentor Agreement Form*
- Submit the same Letter of Recommendation from a faculty or staff mentor that is NOT your proposed mentor used in your CSULB NUFP application
* These steps are also part of your CSULB NUFP application and will be completed and provided by Dr. Norma Salcedo.
