"...I also want to say that the TRIO events were really critical during the first part of 2023, the workshops, learning how to do research, learning about finance, and also having get together and arts and crafts at TRiO, let me feel like I was part of the community.

My best memory of the TRIO program was when I started my first semester on campus as a transfer student. I was completely lost. I didn’t know anyone. I didn’t know what the services on campus were, and TRIO was my home base. All I knew was if I went into that office, I would have a warm place to hang out, a printer, a computer, and if I had to talk to a counselor, I knew I could speak to someone. "

"TRIO has supported me throughout my whole college journey. I have been a part of the foundation of TRIO SSS since I was 15. Being in Upward Bound and now being a college advisor at ETS. But TRIO SSS here has supported me academically. Like finding internships or finding jobs. Like finding my job that I have right now as a college advisor at a high school. "

"My favorite memory is definitely last year when I was going over my classes with one of my coaches and they let me know that I had one semester left, as opposed to two semesters. It was such a relieving moment and such a breath of fresh air."

"TRIO been a really big factor ever since I came here at Cal State Long Beach. Since they benefited me and helped me with financial aid, helping me schedule my classes and getting some personal academic advising on kind of allowing me to choose the right classes and help me kind of plan out my schedule throughout, my whole career at CSULB."

"As a returning student navigating college with a learning disability, financial challenges, and a big dream, the TRIO space became more than just a computer lab.  It became my sanctuary. Go Beach."

"My experience with the program was amazing. I was helped, listened, encouraged, and given resources to any need I needed and was well received at the office."

"One of my favorite memories being in TRIO was pretty much reaching out to the coaches and just pretty much receiving that help. You know, as a first gen, it’s kind of hard to navigate your way as you’re in college."

"I also want to be grateful for the computer lab. It has been a quiet space for me to go in, especially in finals, to go in and study. And I’m grateful that the computers are available as well as printing. It would have been an additional cost that I don’t know if I would have been able to cover."
