AvanzandoAcademic year learning community for 30 CSULB Hispanic/Latinx undergraduate students from any major. Scholars participate in 14 two-hour workshops, 7 during the fall and 7 during spring semester.  Participants receive a $500 stipend.  Avanzando provides culturally relevant tools, information, and support systems to navigate the CSULB environment, improve academic performance and graduate.Freshman

Biotechnology Internships in Stem Cell Research
This program trains advanced bachelors, post-baccalaureate, and masters students in the theory and techniques of stem cell research for the development of therapies. Ten interns will be selected annually to complete the paid second year of a two-year stem cell track of Biotechnology Certificate Program at CSULB. These interns will each receive a $30,000 stipend plus up to $7,000 tuition to perform full-time research on one of more than thirty laboratories at Cedars-Sinai, City of Hope, or UCI.Junior

Building Infrastructure Leading to Diversity
CSULB BUILD Program offers intensive research training opportunities for undergraduate students interested in pursuing a research career in health-related research. Health-related research uses innovative methods to examine the cause, diagnosis, prevention, and treatment of diseases to improve health and wellbeing. It is conducted across a number of different disciplines (e.g., engineering and the behavioral, biological, clinical, physical, public health and social sciences) and can include basic, applied, and translational approaches to studying several health issues facing our communities and our nation.Junior

Engineering Bridge
Program is offered to incoming freshmen as a Learning Community Cluster. This type of structure enhances the opportunity for students to build community among students, among student and faculty, and among faculty involved with these students. The goal of the program is to improve students' academic performance and increase their ability to graduate in four years. It is an academic year-long program commencing with the Summer Bridge Program in late August. Students who are accepted into EB will participate in a 5-day Summer Bridge residential program and continue through the academic year as a single cohort thru Fall and Spring.Freshman
Engineering Honors ProgramOffers an opportunity for academically successful and motivated students interested in completing their program of study in four years. In addition to honors-level courses, students will be engaged in the application of engineering through a year-long research project, culminating in a thesis. CSU-LSAMP is sponsored both by the National Science Foundation and the California State University, providing a statewide program for the enhancement of math and science skills for students have faced or face social, educational or economic barriers, majoring in science, technology, mathematics and engineering (STEM).
