Comprehensive Examination
The comprehensive examination is one of the possibilities for meeting the exit requirement (also called a culminating activity) for a Master's degree in the College of Education. You will receive guidance from your program faculty about the dates and structure of the comprehensive examination. According to California Title 5 Requirements, the comprehensive examination is “an assessment of the student’s ability to integrate the knowledge of the area, show critical and independent thinking, and demonstrate mastery of the subject matter. The result of the examination evidences independent thinking, appropriate organization, critical analysis, and accuracy of documentation."
