The Cole Conservatory of Music offers a CTC-Approved (California Commission on Teacher Credentialing) undergraduate degree in music education that satisfies "Subject Matter Competency.

*The MEP takes place during the Spring semester of the Senior year, and applies to those students who start their degrees under the 2016-2017 CSULB catalogue; both freshmen and transfer students. The MEP will effect graduation beginning Spring 2019 for the transfers; 2020 for native freshmen.
Current BM Instrumental and Choral/Vocal degree will take the Senior MEP in place of the Senior Recital requirement beginning Spring 2016. During the transition, the MEP provides practical experience only, without effecting graduation.
