CEEE Is Hiring!
The Center for Evaluation and Educational Effectiveness (CEEE) is currently seeking to fill one Graduate Assistant (GA) position. This part-time, in-person position is approximately 10-20 hours per week.
The GAs will be active participants in the research and evaluation process of educational programs. CEEE works with colleges, universities, K12 schools, districts and not-for-profits through research and evaluation that aim to support effective educational programs in their goals toward student success for all. Graduate Evaluation Assistants (GAs) will be involved in all facets of data collection and analysis on specified projects. GAs will perform a range of research and administrative duties related to the project, including but not limited to:
- Conducting literature searches and drafting literature reviews
- Developing surveys, interviews, and focus group protocols
- Administering surveys, interviews, and focus groups
- Managing, organizing, and analyzing quantitative and qualitative data
- Preparing charts, tables, and graphs
- Providing writing and editing support on research and evaluation reports
- Attending and participating in regularly scheduled CEEE team meetings, team project meetings, and any required professional development and trainings (e.g., SPSS skills, Excel workshops, interview/focus group training)
- Preparing project presentations using graphics software
- Other miscellaneous administrative duties as assigned (e.g. scheduling research interviews, transcribing interviews, cleaning datasets, reviewing codebooks and datasets for existing data)
To be considered for this program, you must be enrolled in a graduate program at CSULB. We are seeking Graduate Evaluation Assistants (GAs) who possess the following experience and desirable qualities:
- Interest in program evaluation, research methods, and/or program improvement for student success and diversity, equity, and inclusion
- Experience with data collection and analysis (quantitative and/or qualitative) and/or a strong desire to learn
- Experience with Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
- Experience with SPSS, NVivo and/or a desire to learn
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to work independently, effectively multi-task and problem-solve while meeting timelines and deadlines for varying projects
- Ability and desire to work with a diverse employee and student population
- Ability and desire to work in a professional, team-oriented, collaborative environment
Salary: $20.50/hour
Hours: 10 hours/week; Monday – Friday
Schedule: In-person, with some remote work. Work schedule may change due to project/operational needs and in consideration of the GA’s school schedule.
