Degree Seeking Students

If you are seeking an undergraduate degree and have taken courses at a college or university, you are considered a Transfer Student.

Degree-seeking adults who have never attended a community college or university are advised to take required courses at a community college before applying to CSULB. To find a community college in your area visit California Community Colleges.

You are a returning student if you have completed undergraduate units at CSULB and stopped attending for various reasons and wants to return to complete an undergraduate degree. Note: Degree-seeking students who are on an approved Educational Leave do not need to apply for readmission.

If you are ready to return to CSULB to complete your degree, please review the process for Readmission and take the Readmission Pathway Quiz.

Returning CSULB students can also visit Former Students Degree Requirements before reapplying.

Anyone who already holds a bachelor's degree and is interested in pursuing an additional bachelor's degree can visit the Second Bachelor’s Degree to learn more about degree options and the admissions process before applying.
