SERVE Field Placement Conditions

*SERVE students looking to use their employment to be placed in will need to meet the conditions below. Students will need to make appropriate arrangments at their site to do the SERVE hours. A letter is required and must be submitted to the Office of Clinical Practice. A Certificate of Clearance, TB test, and SERVE registration must be on file prior to requesting to use your job site. Please see SERVE Clearance information for more details. 

SERVE Conditions of placement:

EDEL 200:  INTRODUCTION TO THE TEACHING PROFESSION, 45 hours.  Student will participate in a regular, self-contained K-8 classroom, preferably an inclusive classroom, in a core academic area (not departmentalized, special education, computer labs, after-school programs, etc.) Cooperating teacher has a professional teaching credential with a minimum of 3 years teaching experience. Must be in a public school setting.

EDEL 300:  CULTURAL AND LINGUISTIC DIVERSITY IN SCHOOLS, 40 hours.  Student will participate in an urban K-8 classroom, preferably in an inclusive classroom. Cooperating teacher has a professional teaching credential with a minimum of 3 years teaching experience.
