Cal State Long Beach’s Giving Tuesday raises more than $300,000 to support students
This week’s Giving Tuesday was a success, yielding $301,820 in gifts to Cal State Long Beach from 225 dedicated donors. The Beach's total exceeded that of last year by more than $120,000.
While donors supported programs across campus, there was particular focus this year on expanding undergraduate scholarships to ensure that all students are empowered to graduate without being financially burdened.
“Giving Tuesday was a great success because we have a community that cares deeply about our students, the programs that serve them, and the support for their learning and growth,” said Dan Montoya, vice president of University Relations & Development. “We are grateful to every donor who made a gift and inspired others to give. We are stronger together, and we are a philanthropic force for good! Thank you to our amazing Beach community.”
All gifts, no matter the size, make a difference at The Beach. The comprehensive No Barriers campaign seeks to create a national model for student achievement, empowerment and equity; shape the future workforce of California; and elevate our community and advance the public good.
