Counseling students present at conference in Thailand

College of Ed Professor Paul Ratanasiripong (Dr. Paul) and five of his students recently presented at the International Conference on Public Health and Education in Thailand.

The students are in our M.S. in Counseling, Student Development in Higher Education program.

The students and their presentations were:

  • Stephanie Jimenez (1st year): Factors Impacting the Mental Health of Senior University Students in Northern Thailand

  • Emily Ramon (2nd year): Secondary School Students’ Mental Health, Grit, Self-Esteem, and Smartphone Addiction

  • Tammy Nguyen (2nd year): University Students’ Smartphone Addiction and Mental Health

  • Florencia Galvan (3rd year): Mental Health and Quality of Life among College and University Teaching Professionals in Thailand

  • Manami Koizumi (3rd year): Discrimination Reduction through Intergroup Dialogue in Education

Dr. Paul also presented on Improving Mental Health and Well-Being Among Students and Teaching Professionals in the K-12 and University Settings in Thailand.

The conference provided an opportunity for researchers, academics and students to contribute to the global effort of creating a sustainable future through global collaboration in the areas of public health and education. 

All five of the participating CSULB students have been working on research projects with Dr. Paul. They submitted their research proposals to this conference and their proposals were accepted through the conference peer-reviewed process.
