Retired Long Beach teachers award scholarships

Thank you to the local and state California Retired Teachers Associations for their ongoing support of our teacher candidates!

The Long Beach CalRTA recently awarded $55,553 in scholarships to 11 CSULB College of Education students while the California RTA awarded $8,000 in scholarships to five of them.

Also boosting the local ranks of exceptional educators, Long Beach CalRTA awarded scholarships to five students at Long Beach City College and five at Cerritos College.

Members of the organization and many of the scholarship recipients from all three schools celebrated at a luncheon held at St. Gregory’s Episcopal Church in late September.
