Katie Dudley
Dr. Katie Dudley is currently an Assistant Professor at California State University, Long Beach in the Department of Recreation and Leisure Studies. Before completing her doctorate degree in Parks, Recreation and Tourism Management from Clemson University in 2019, Dr. Dudley worked in various aspects of tourism throughout the U.S. including Yellowstone National Park, Death Valley National Park, a whitewater raft guide on the New and Gauley rivers in West Virginia, at various hotels and golf courses across Montana, Texas, Tennessee and Ohio, and in marketing/branding in outdoor adventure companies and organizations.
Her work in the industry shaped her research interest which explores the sociocultural, political and economic factors shaping the tourism workforce, and sustainable tourism development with a specific focus on the social impacts of tourism development.
