The Threat of Racist Rhetoric

Dr. Lindsay Pérez Huber’s timely article, “The Threat of Racist Rhetoric” published on the Teachers College Press blog comments on the U.S. Capitol attack earlier this year. Based on Dr. Pérez Huber’s forthcoming book, Why They Hate Us: How Racist Rhetoric Impacts Education, the article explores the role of white supremacy in the violence at the Capitol Building. The book, scheduled to release in early March, examines how racist political rhetoric has created damaging and dangerous conditions for Students of Color in schools and higher education institutions throughout the United States.
