  • The College of Education serves approximately 3,000 students across 25 academic programs at the baccalaureate, post-baccalaureate/credential, master’s, and doctoral levels.

  • The College of Education offers an undergraduate BA degree in Liberal Studies with an Integrated Teacher Education Program. 
  • In the 2017-18 academic year the College of Education recommended candidates for 863 credentials and added authorizations.

Rankings

  • The College ranks first in the CSU and in the state in granting Single Subject credentials, which recently granted 276 credentials.
  • Most recently, the College ranks 3rd in California for number of initial credentials granted.

Student Support

  • Students are well-supported via specialized advising centers, including the Teacher Preparation Advising Center, the Graduate Studies Office, and the Credential Center.

Accreditation

  • The College is nationally accredited by
    • the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing (CTC).
  • The College’s Education Specialist Program in School Psychology is accredited by the National Association of School Psychologists (NASP).

Collaboration & Community

  • The College of Education has clinical partnership agreements with close to 100 school districts, Community Colleges, mental health agencies and non-profits across Southern California.
  • The College serves the community through the Community Clinic, the Long Beach Trauma Recovery Center (LBTRC), and the Center for Evaluation and Educational Effectiveness.
