Upload Your Admissions Documents
Only documents from institutions (schools, colleges, universities) outside of the United States may be submitted using this portal.
We will use these documents to make a preliminary admissions decision. If you are offered admission to CSULB, we will collect your final official documents after you are admitted.
Have you attended an institution in the United States?
All transcripts from U.S. institutions must be sent officially to ES-IDPTrans@csulb.edu from the issuing entity or via courier to International Admissions, FND-185B, 6300 State University Drive, Long Beach, CA 90815. Do not upload transcripts from U.S. institutions using this portal.
Have your 9-digit CSULB Campus ID number ready.
You can find this number in the bottom section of the email we sent you. You cannot submit documents in the portal without it.
Do not upload any of the following with your academic documents as they will be deleted: resumes, letters of recommendation, statements of purpose, passports, financial documents, appeal letters, copies of Cal State Apply Applications, or transcripts from U.S. institutions. Uploading any of these items may result in your entire submission being deleted and create significant delays in the processing time of your application.
- Documents must be saved in PDF format.
- Ensure the pages are in chronological order and correctly oriented
- Remove any security restrictions (passwords) from your documents prior to uploading.
Applicants from Russia and Belarus may encounter issues uploading documents in the portal. If so, please contact our team for assistance at cie-apply@csulb.edu.

Form I-20 Documents
Submitting I-20 Documents
Please note that a Form I-20 will only be issued by CSULB to admitted students that have submitted all required documents listed below. You can upload all required I-20 documents here, but please be aware that incomplete submissions won’t be saved or reviewed. Please submit only once to avoid processing delays. If more documents are needed, you’ll be contacted via email after admission.
Common Errors Preventing I-20 Issuance:
- Missing or incomplete documents/information
- Blurry, incorrect, or incomplete files
- Uploading the wrong document (use "Drop files" to replace)
Required Documents
- Passport biographical data page. Your passport's biographical page must be valid for at least six more months from the submission date.
- A completed Financial Affidavit Form. Students admitted to a College of Business Graduate Program should use the COB Graduate Financial Affidavit Form.
- Proof of finances. You must provide financial documents showing sufficient funds, with certified English translations if not originally in English. Acceptable documents include official bank statements (issued within six months), private sponsorships with a signed affidavit and financial statement, government sponsorship letters specifying CSU Long Beach and funding details, or official scholarship award letters stating the amount and validity period.
Adding a Dependent (Spouse or Children)
If your spouse or children will accompany you, you must show extra funds: $4,700 for a spouse and $3,900 per child. Complete the Dependent Information section of the Financial Affidavit and include copies of their passport biographical pages.
Transferring to CSULB
If you already have an F-1 status with another school, ask your current international student advisor to complete the transfer-out process. CSU Long Beach cannot issue an I-20 without your SEVIS record. After you are admitted to CSULB, coordinate with your advisor to set a transfer-out date. CSULB does not use a SEVIS transfer form.
