Message from the Associate Vice President

Dear Students, Faculty, Staff, and Community Members,

It is my great pleasure to welcome you to California State University Long Beach and to this website of International Education and Global Engagement. Our entire team is dedicated to organizing, promoting, and facilitating international education and exchange opportunities for students, faculty, and staff at CSULB and destinations all over the world. Our primary goal is to assist CSULB students in graduating with the knowledge and cultural competency needed to take global leadership and service roles.

In collaboration with all academic colleges and departments at the university, we welcome more than 3,000 international students and visitors annually from over 100 countries to the CSULB campus. Similarly, we create global learning opportunities for our students in over 250 destinations worldwide through our 60 international university partners and most major third-party education abroad providers. The Center for International Education, the American Language Institute, and the Study-Abroad office are actively engaged in hosting international education programs and activities, as well as social and cultural events, throughout the year.

The Center for International Education also supports international faculty, scholars, and researchers to come, work and collaborate with CSULB faculty. CSULB departments and faculty members should contact CIE if you are thinking of inviting and hosting an exchange faculty or scholar.

Through our programs and services, we strive to foster cross-cultural understanding and to prepare our students for success in an increasingly interconnected and globalized world. Whether you are a current student, a prospective applicant, a faculty member, or a partner institution, we hope that this website will provide you with the information and resources you need to engage with us.
