National Cyber Security Awareness: Export Controlled Information and Travel
Dear Colleagues,
US export control laws regulate what technology equipment and information can be shared and taken abroad. The university’s Office of Information Security will assist our faculty and staff in complying with U.S. export control laws regarding technology equipment and information items. Please be advised that the federal export control regulations apply:
- When you travel overseas with a laptop computer, tablet, or flash drive or any other computing or data storage device that contains items or information governed by the U.S. Export Control laws and regulations
- When you access from overseas the information governed by the U.S. Export Control laws and regulations
For information security tips regarding the federal export control laws, please visit Export Controlled Information and Travel Guidelines. Please also contact the Office of Information Security at security@csulb.edu for information on securely accessing, storing, and transmitting your data in the U.S. and while travelling outside the U.S.
