Appointment of Campus Information Security Officer
Dear Campus Community,
I am very pleased to announce that, after an extensive national recruitment process, Ms. Aysu Spruill has accepted the appointment to the Information Security Officer (ISO) for our campus.
Ms. Spruill has been with the CSU family for over 18 years. Her CSU career began with working at the Chancellor?s Office for nearly two years before joining our campus. She first served as our campus Senior Auditor and then as our campus Director of Internal Auditing Services. In the past seven years, she also assumed some of the functions and responsibilities of our campus Information Security Officer. With her new appointment, she will work with the campus community to develop a comprehensive information security program to assess our campus information security risks and lead our efforts in creating an information-secure learning and working environment for our students, faculty and staff and in ensuring that we are fully compliant with the federal, State and CSU regulations and laws regarding information and cyber security.
In addition to her experience of audit and information security management, Ms. Spruill holds a Master?s degree in economics from the University of Zurich, Switzerland. She is also a Certified Information Security Manager, Certified Information Systems Auditor, and Certified Internal Auditor.
Aysu will begin her new appointment on August 2. Please join me in congratulating Aysu.
I thank the members of the ISO Search Committee who spent many hours reviewing applications and interviewing candidates. My thanks also go to those of you who met and interviewed the candidates and offered your comments and feedback.
