Services We Offer
The Health Professions Advising Office (HPAO) offers advising throughout the year for CSULB students and alumni considering professional training in healthcare. We advise students at all stages of the health professions planning process, from career exploration through the interview.
Drop-In Advising
After attending a Pre-Health 101 session, students may attend drop-in advising for individual quick questions in the Health Professions Advising Office. Drop-in advising is available Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Times and dates will be posted on HPAO on CSULB Events & Orgs.
Appointments
Appointments are ONLY for juniors and seniors currently in the upcoming application cycle. If you are applying in the upcoming cycle to a professional health program (medical, dental, PA, OT, optometry, etc.), you can schedule an appointment via Beach Connect in Single Sign-On (SSO). Guidance
We provide a wide range of guidance designed to meet the needs of CSULB students as they navigate through the often-complex process of preparation and application to professional school:
- Health Professions Guidance: One of the first steps to entering a health profession is to determine which field interests you the most.
- Application Guidance: There are many aspects to every application to a health professions school. Learn how to build a more robust and holistic application.
- Opportunities for Experience: There are several ways you can gain experience and get involved. These activities and experiences build your application.
- Workshops and Event: We offer workshops to orient you with application building and events to connect you with health professions schools.
