Admissions Scoring
Admission is granted on a competitive basis. Meeting admission requirements qualifies an individual for, but does not guarantee, admission to the program.
The prospective student's application is scored on the CSULB DPT Application Rubric for each of the following areas:
- Overall GPA
- Prerequisite GPA
- GRE scores
- Experience hours and sites
- Letters of Recommendation
- Personal Essay
Scores for each area are added to give the applicant an overall score. The overall score determines whether the applicant is offered an acceptance to the program or placed on a waitlist. Additional consideration for admission will be given to those applicants that have shown specific interest in our program or for veterans, reservists or National Guardsmen who have served in the U.S. military. Information regarding the weighting of each of the above areas will not be given.
