Post-Bac UDCP Courses

Candidates entering this program have either received a Bachelor's Degree already or will receive a Bachelor's Degree prior to the end of their Credential Program. Through this pathway candidates will earn a Preliminary Multiple Subject Credential and Preliminary Education Specialist Credential in 2 years.

The UDCP Program is a cohort program that begins in the Fall semester only.  Since the program is a cohort model, candidates follow the schedule listed below and the program cannot be completed part-time. 

Fieldwork for the Urban Dual Credential Program is divided into three phases:

  • Pre-Admission/Clinical 1 (Observation), Early Fieldwork/Clinical 2 (Pre-Student Teaching), and Culminating Student Teaching/Clinical 3 Fieldwork. 
  • Once admitted to the program, candidates begin Early Fieldwork/Clinical 2 (Pre-Student Teaching) hours in classrooms. In Semester 1, Candidates complete 60 hours of Clinical 2 Early Fieldwork, in addition to 15 units of Course Work. These 15 units include 3 units of Alternative Methods of English Language Development. In Semester 2, Candidates complete an additional 60 hours of Clinical 2 Early Fieldwork, in addition to 13 units of course work. 
  • In Semesters 3 and 4, Candidates complete Student Teaching/Clinical 3 Fieldwork.
