Scholarship Reception
The College of Education (CED) Scholarship Reception, an important celebration for student recipients and their families, shines a light on the students, their accomplishments, as well as our generous donors. Over the course of the evening, the donors and recipients have a chance to get to know each other to see and share the impact each scholarship has made. Along with celebrating the generosity of the present donors, the event takes the time to honor and remember the legacy donors who bequeathed a scholarship in their estate.
The 2019 CED Scholarship Reception will be on October 11th 2019 from 4:30 - 6:30pm.
The CED Scholarship Reception will be held in the Pointe Conference Center on campus. The Pointe Conference Center is located at street level next to the "Yellow Entrance" of the Walter Pyramid Sports Arena.
Students who were awarded donor supported scholarships for College of Education program through the BeachScholarships system for the current academic year.
This event focuses on donor supported scholarships for students in College of Education programs. Students who receive stipends, grants, non-CED scholarships, or external scholarships are not recognized at this event.
This means that a scholarship that you received was provided through a legacy gift, and there is no donor or donor representative who will be attending. Being selected for this scholaship is a huge accomplishment, and your attendance at this event will allow us to celebrate your acheivements, but there is no obligation to attend.
Photographs will be taken at this event so we suggest that you dress business casual.
We typically serve light appetizers such as cheese & crackers, hummus & pita, veggies, assorted finger sandwiches, desserts, coffee, water, and lemonade. If you have any dietary restrictions, please note those in the accessibility question in the RSVP form.
Currently we can only allow one guest per recipient due to the estimated event capacity. We may be able to open up RSVPs to allow a second guest, depending on responses.
Information coming soon!
Please visit CED Scholarship Listing and click on the name of your scholarship to learn about the donor who provided that scholarship. Many of our scholarship endowments have come from the estates of our donors. We honor their memories and their generosity with every scholarship awarded through these Legacy gifts. Some of our Legacy donors have family who attend this celebration, but many do not. If you have a question about your scholarship's donor, please contact hayley.miller@csulb.edu.
Your scholarship funds will be disbursed through Financial Aid prior to the semester(s) is which the scholarship was awarded. Scholarships are awarded in the fall, spring, or both fall & spring. Please contact the Financial Aid and Scholarships Office for more information.
