Compensation FAQ -- CED Professional Development Series
Faculty may receive up to total of $1500 for participating in university, college, and/or department PD offerings to prepare for Fall 2020 Alternative Modes of Instruction. In addition, faculty may receive up to an additional $500 for participating in special sessions offered by the Faculty Center.
All full- and part-time CED faculty, including CSULB staff members and FERP faculty, who are the instructor of record for a least one course in Fall 2020.
Yes, if space permits, you may participate in additional PDs after reaching the $1500 compensation limit. Participation beyond the established limits will not be compensated.
No. You will only receive compensation for the first time you attend or complete the session, though you are welcome to attend/complete the session again for a refresher if you choose.
No. Records of completion for university, college, and department PDs will be sent to the college to process payments. We recommend that you save records of participation, in the event of any discrepancies.
Each video recording will contain instructions for demonstrating that you have completed the PD session. After following those instructions, your participation will be recorded.
Faculty should expect a delay between completing a PD session and being paid a stipend. The Fiscal Office will begin processing payments in batches once participation is verified via the departments, college, and university. This process may take several weeks. Faculty who already have direct deposit established with the university will receive their compensation directly to their banks.
