Dr. Kelli Sanderson and Dr. Kristin Powers have received $1.25 million from the Office of Special Education Programs to recruit, retain and graduate 24 scholars, including members of historically underrepresented groups, to the fields of special education and school psychology.
Through comprehensive training, these scholars will become highly qualified to implement evidence-based, culturally responsive self-determination assessments and interventions to improve the outcomes of students with disabilities. Additionally, scholars will work to empower families of students with disabilities by providing a free special-education advocacy training series.
