Dr. Jessica Zacher Pandya Travels to Finland for Seminar on Multiliteracies (Spotlight)

Jessica Zacher Pandya, chair of the Department of Liberal Studies, was invited to a meeting in Rovaniemi, Finland in December 2017. The meeting was funded by the Joy of Learning Multiliteracies (MOI) Research and Development Programme sponsored by the Finnish Ministries of Education and Culture. For a week, Pandya worked with other international scholars working in and out of schools to discuss the role of multiltieracies in their own work and in the Finnish context, where “multiliteracy" is one of seven competencies in the national curriculum. A book project based on the work of the Finnish and international researchers is forthcoming.
