Junior Mentoring Program (JMP)
Details of the JMP
- One-semester program (fall or spring) where a junior level student is paired with young professionals in a mentoring relationship. Mentors help students prepare for their college careers, sharing their skills, knowledge and advice on how to balance college, work and personal life. Focus is given to resume building and professional development activities that will better prepare the students for the job market and complement their academic learning experience.
- COB juniors spend a fall (September-December) or spring (February-May) semester paired in a mentoring relationship with a young professional, who will share their experiences and offer guidance, advice, and support about things students need to prepare for senior year, graduation, internships, and jobs.
- Available to junior level students.
- Must complete an application and interview, if requested.

- Fall Applications will open in the spring semester prior
- Spring Applications will open in the fall semester prior
Important Requirements to Note
- Events
- Orientation (Held virtually via Zoom on a Friday; morning (10:00am-12:00pm) and afternoon (2:00pm-4:00pm) options available)
- This event is for mentees only. The JMP Orientation covers what to expect, allows mentees to meet the other selected participants, and prepares mentees for the program commitment.
- Mixer (Held virtually via Zoom on a Thursday evening from 6:00pm-8:00pm)
- This evening event is for both mentees and mentors. The Mixer provides a setting to network with all JMP participants.
- Orientation (Held virtually via Zoom on a Friday; morning (10:00am-12:00pm) and afternoon (2:00pm-4:00pm) options available)
- Mentee and Mentor
- It is the mentee's responsibility to reach out to their mentor first through an email or phone call
- Minimum requirement for meetings is one hour per month (face-to-face or virtual)
- Complete a contract at the first mentee and mentor meeting
