College of Liberal Arts Announces 2023 Outstanding Baccalaureate Student Award Recipients

Congratulations to Year 2 Scholar, Emma Rosas for being awarded a Travel Award to the 2023 Western Psychological Association (WPA) annual convention for her outstanding abstract.  Her abstract was rated in the top 2% of over 1200 abstract submissions.

Congratulations to BUILD PI, Dr. Kim Vu who is a 2023 University Achievement Award recipient. Dr. Vu has been awarded with the 2023 Outstanding Professor Award at CSULB.

Congratulations to Emily Montes, CSULB BUILD Fellow and Environmental Science and Policy major, on her recent presentation award at the 2022 SACNAS NDiSTEM Conference held in San Juan, Puerto Rico.

Congratulations to Adeline Rosales for receiving the Café Bustelo® El Café Del Futuro Scholarship. Café Bustelo® aims to invest in the Latino community by awarding scholarships to those who seek better futures for themselves, their families and their communities.

From November 9th through the 12th 18 BUILD Trainees are participating in the Annual Biomedical Research Conference for Minoritized Scientists (ABRCMS) with members of the BUILD Team in Anaheim, CA. Of the 18 students, 12 students are presenting either a research poster or an oral presentation!

We’re attending SACNAS! Six BUILD Trainees are traveling with members of the BUILD Team to Puerto Rico for the annual National Diversity In Stem Conference from October 27-29. Of the six students, four students are presenting a poster. Learn more about SACNAS.
