Research Interests: Unfolded Protein Response and Cancer Biology
Personal Interests: Bullet journaling, collecting postcards, learning languages, and performing.
Fun Fact: I love penguins!

Lizbeth Castillo Monterrosa
Year One Scholar
Major: International Studies
Hails From: Montebello, Calif.
Research Interests: Public health and the experiences of migrants and refugees throughout their migration journey as well as their integration experience in a host country.
Personal Interests: I enjoy working out but especially love running and sprinting on the track.
Favorite Scientist: Not sure if he's classified as a "scientist," but Karl Marx's work really made me aware of my standing in today's political system.
Fun Fact: I don't know how to float.

Major: Biomedical and Electrical Engineering
Hails From: Lancaster, Calif.
Research Interests: Neural Engineering, neuroprosthetics
Personal Interests: DANCING, Reading, Photography (specifically landscape and people), Kickboxing, and Knitting
Favorite Scientist: Dr. Maryam Moussavi because her goal is to spread knowledge. Scientists are helpful but scientists that strive to spread knowledge build our future.
Fun Fact: When I am walking somewhere I like to isolate sounds like birds chirping to see how long in my walk can I still hear it.
