Wireless Access Policies
BeachNet+
BeachNet+, the campus wireless network, is run by CSULB Network Services with support provided by the Campus Technology Help Desk. Network Services has installed antennas for wireless device access in the public areas of the Library (reading rooms). All users of the campus wireless network must authenticate before they may use BeachNet+. All devices are scanned for known vulnerabilities and threats before they may use the BeachNet+ wireless network. Computers found with serious problems are denied access. The owners must correct the problem before they can gain access to BeachNet+.
Students who are unable to connect should be referred to the Technology Help Desk in the Horn Center. Students who are STOPPED from connecting because their computer has a known vulnerability are responsible for correcting the problem. The Library does not provide configuration or troubleshooting support for personally owned devices. Any staff or faculty that are from other departments who have problems using the wireless network should be referred to their own technical support people in their department. Students who experience problems with weak signals should move and see if another location provides a better connection.
To use BeachNet+, please refer to the Wireless Network Services page to find configuration instructions for your mobile device. This involves a one-time setup, which will enable your devices to connect to the BeachNet+ wireless network automatically thereafter.
