Professor Désirée Zamorano's Book Release
On October 9, 2024, Education faculty member Désirée Zamorano presented her new book, Dispossesed.
"This novel, based on historical events, traces the life of Manuel, a boy who is separated from his parents during the mass expulsion of Mexican Americans and Mexican nationals in Los Angeles during the 1930s. As he grows into an adult he is surrounded by remarkable women. Generous Amparo, who brings the mute boy into her home with gentle tenderness, then Lizette, striking and vivacious, who captivates his passion and loyalty.
