Parking & Transportation
As you may know, the parking situation at most universities is not very good, especially during peak hours of operation. This is definitely the case at California State University, Long Beach (CSULB), and it is the reason for the institution of the Parking Policy as our on-campus parking availability has been reduced due to our long-term campus planning efforts, sustainability programs, and increased student enrollment.
CSULB encourages the use of public transportation as a way to decrease the number of cars traveling to the campus. In fact, the university has partnered with Long Beach Transit to offer competitively priced U-PASS TAP Card Program, which can be used on all Long Beach Transit buses to eligible students, faculty and staff. That said, while there are limitations as far as bus schedules, and buses stop at locations on campus, though not right in front of the residential buildings, we can assure you that safety of our students remains a top priority for the university.
