Financial Aid Counseling
Students are able to meet with a Financial Aid counselor for questions about financial aid or application assistance.
EOP 100 Orientation Course For First Time Freshmen
The EOP 100 course is designed to help students adjust to college and gain skills necessary to be successful in college. Some of the topics covered in this two-unit course are study skills, time management, problem solving and critical thinking skills, campus resources, diversity, wellness and career/major exploration.
Free Tutorial Services
EOP students can receive free tutoring services from the Learning Center if the tutoring needed is not provide by our in house tutoring services. EOP offers free in house group and individual tutoring in the subjects listed below:
- Math
- Statistics
- Biology
- Physics
- Writing Support
Technolgy Loan Program
For EOP students who need a laptop and/or calculator, EOP offers an emergency technology loan program. Students can be loaned these items for up to one week. Please keep in mind that these are not available for long-term use, but they are meant to assist students in times of need.

Summer Bridge Program
The EOP Summer Bridge Program (SBP) is a program that allows incoming EOP students experience the California State University, Long Beach environment prior to entering the fall term. Students will transition to CSULB through academic workshops, enrichment activities, and the opportunity to build relationships and network with students, faculty and staff. It is mandatory that all EOP students participate in Summer Bridge or Transfer Summer Bridge, or they cannot participate in EOP.
EOP Student Organization (ESO)
The EOP Student Organization (ESO) seeks to promote ethical leadership, academic achievement, and civic responsibility by mobilizing students to educate others on the importance of campus involvement, community service, networking, and degree completion.
Graduate and Professional Schools Fair
Every year representatives from various graduate and professional schools participate in the fair sponsored by The Educational Opportunity Program. Students are able to meet with representatives from private and public institutions nationwide. This is a great opportunity for students to learn more about postgraduate opportunities, admissions procedures and financing graduate education.
Guardian Scholars
The CSULB Guardian Scholars Program assists current/former foster youth in their educational pursuits by offering services such as academic counseling, financial aid advising, tutoring, mentorship, skills assessment, and math and writing labs throughout their academic career. Additionally, the CSULB Guardian Scholars Program provides advising with an academic counselor who has knowledge about on-campus resources and other critical services available from different departments throughout the university which will assure college retention and graduation.
