Congratulations to Dr. Sam Lee, who recently received the 2025 Outstanding Doctoral Research Award at the National Association for Research in Science Teaching Annual Conference in National Harbor, MD. Dr. Lee is an assistant professor in the Science Education Department.

This prestigious award is given annually for the Doctoral Dissertation judged to have the greatest significance in the field of science education.

Sam's dissertation was titled: Towards a Linguistic Otherwise in Science: Customizing Curriculum for Emergent Multilingual Learners' Equitable Sensemaking.
