CSULB Alum Named 2023 PhysTEC Teacher of the Year

Shout-out to Shawn Kirby, the local PhysTEC Teacher of the Year!

The PhysTEC Teacher of the Year program recognizes outstanding high school physics educators who demonstrate the impact and value of physics teacher preparation programs. Prior to this honor, Shawn earned a double major in chemistry and physics at CSULB and a master’s degree in Material Science at UCI (2016). He returned to CSULB to complete his Single Subject Science Credential in 2017.
