David Clifford

David Clifford has worked in Transportation for over 15 years and is currently the Director of Operations at Ventura Transfer Company, the West Coast leader in liquid and dry bulk transportation based in Long Beach, Ca.  Ventura Transfer Company specializes in the movement of chemicals via railroad, truck, and intermodal container and is also the oldest trucking company in California having been in business since 1869.  David’s background in operations management includes railroad, chemical transloading, trucking, maintenance, and intermodal container operations and his responsibilities include safety, profitability, strategy, business development, and government affairs.  He is the resident expert in intermodal drayage, port, and isotank depot operations and is quite possibly the most knowledgeable person in the Southern California region in intermodal isotank operations.

David has a B.S. in Aerospace Engineering from Cal Pol San Luis Obispo and an M.S. in Supply Chain Management from Cal State Long Beach.  He is a member of the Board of Directors and Past President of the Transload Distribution Association of North America (TDANA), an international association focusing on the railroad and transloading industries.
