Supporting Science Teaching - SCED 401
Each semester, the Science Education Department sponsors seminars and workshops here on campus designed for pre-service teachers, as well as current classroom teachers, to provide ideas for bringing effective science teaching strategies into the classroom. These meetings provide great opportunities for conversation with peers around teaching and the teaching of science.
Attendance Expectations
Students enrolled in SCED 401 (the Science Capstone) are required to attend one of the Supporting Science Teaching (SST) meetings offered this semester. These events are in person on the CSULB campus.
Please check with your instructor as to how you will demonstrate your attendance (e.g., a paper, a reflection, etc.).
SST Events
Be sure to RSVP early; many of the sessions will fill up. Please DON’T WAIT to address this assignment at the very end of the semester, as you may find that those sessions are filled!
Should you find that you are unable to attend an event you signed up for, PLEASE CONTACT scied@csulb.edu at least 48 hours before the start time so we can open the seat to another student.
