Christine (Chrissy) Franks Sayed has been appointed as the new Director of Advising for the College of Health and Human Services. Chrissy has nearly 15 years of experience in academic advising and student support services. She has held positions at UCLA and USC. Most recently Chrissy served as the Director of Student Affairs for the USC Aerospace and Mechanical Engineering Department where she oversaw advising and retention services, new student orientation, and Ph.D. admission. Previously, Chrissy served as the Associate Director of Academic Services at the USC Viterbi School of Engineering where she managed the school's undergraduate Academic Resource and Tutoring Center, first-year advising, and served as a central undergraduate contact in the Dean's Office for nine engineering departments. Chrissy is a proud member of the CSULB Alumni, graduating with majors in Human Development and Sociology. She holds a M.Ed. in Educational Counseling from USC.

"It is incredibly rewarding to help a student discover a new goal, create a plan that takes them one step closer to graduation, or overcome a challenge that has hindered their success," says Chrissy. "As advisors, we are uniquely positioned to provide students with the resources they need to be successful, and I have seen this interaction be transformational to the student experience. This is why I love advising and why I am excited to deliver holistic advisement services to all CHHS students."
