Entrance exams are no longer required for college admission; however, placement tests may help students be placed in the proper mathematics and written communication courses. Contact CSULB's Testing Department for additional information.
PSAT
The Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test is a standardized test that provides practice for the SATTM. It also provides a chance to enter National Merit Scholarship Corporation (NMSC) scholarship programs.
SAT

ACT
The American College Test (ACT) is America's most widely accepted college entrance exam. It assesses high school students' academic readiness for college. Scores are used for admission, financial aid and scholarship decisions.
EAP
The goal of the Early Assessment Program (EAP) is to have California high school graduates enter the CSU system fully prepared to begin college-level study. The EAP Program is a collaborative effort among the State Board of Education, the California Department of Education and the CSU.
