- Collectively, in the last three years the CCJEM faculty have produced more than 50 articles, book chapters, and books.
- Emergency Management faculty were instrumental in the establishment of the Federal Next Generation of Core Competencies for the emerging discipline of Emergency Management, along with a Handbook of Behavioral Anchors and Key Actions for measurement.
- Under the leadership of Ron Mark, the Center for Criminal Justice Research and Training has garnered nearly $3 million in contracts to provide training throughout the state for law enforcement personnel.
- Dr. Aili Malm has secured $1.7 million in research funding that supports our graduate students and provides valuable research and evaluation services to local agencies.
- Dr. James Binnall was instrumental in the development of Rising Scholars, the only student organization at LBSU dedicated to meeting the needs of formerly incarcerated students. Dr. Binnall secured a $25,000 commitment from the City of Long Beach to fund the Rising Scholars Education Lab, a drop-in clinic that assists formerly incarcerated citizens secure admission to colleges and universities.
- In 2016, Dr. Christine Scott-Hayward was selected as a Supreme Court Fellow, assigned to the U.S. Sentencing Commission. This prestigious fellowship, run by the Supreme Court of the United States, enabled Dr. Scott-Hayward to spend a year in Washington D.C., learning about and conducting research on the federal judiciary.
- For 10 years, Dr. John Wang has offered a study abroad program in comparative forensic science at University of Leicester, Glasgow Caledonian University and British Columbia Institute of Technology
