Beach Spring Day of Giving inspires generosity, gratitude
Cal State Long Beach’s annual Beach Spring Day of Giving facilitated numerous acts of generosity as nearly 450 donors contributed roughly $130,000 to campus programs.
This year’s contributions surpassed last year’s total of about $115,000 in gifts from nearly 400 donors. Beach Spring Day of Giving provides an avenue for members of the Beach community and friends of the campus to continue to support the university’s No Barriers campaign. This year’s gifts, donated during a 24-hour period that concluded at noon April 17, will support a wide range of activities at each of the campus’ colleges, as well as scholarships, mentorship and internship opportunities.
“I extend a heartfelt expression of gratitude for the Beach Spring Day of Giving - an occasion that unites the entire Beach family in a collective mission to uplift student lives,” said Dan Montoya, vice president of University Relations and Development at CSULB.
This year’s Spring Day of Giving follows the recent announcement that the campus’ No Barriers campaign has raised more than $275 million for the campus to continue to thrive as a national leader for student achievement, empowerment and equity; prepare students for the jobs of tomorrow and elevate and advance the public good. No Barriers will continue through June.
“With deep appreciation, I acknowledge the transformative power of community generosity, which inspires hope, unlocking boundless opportunities for students to flourish and emerge as tomorrow's leaders,” Montoya said. “The Beach community’s unwavering support and steadfast commitment continually enrich every student's educational journey, fostering a culture of philanthropy and empowerment at the university.”
