Student Life
College of the Arts students tend to be some of the busiest university students on campus - between class work, any outside jobs, and the time required in studios, rehearsal rooms, editing bays, performances, and setting up exhibitions. Clearly College of the Arts majors have very full student lives simply because of the nature of their degree programs and requirements. But CSULB and the College of the Arts offer a variety of facilities and organizations that can further enhance the student experience. University Student Union
The University Student Union (USU) is known as one of the central locations for information and services for the campus. Some of the services in the USU are offered by the university or the Associated Students, Inc. (ASI), while others are provided by contracted vendors here to serve our diverse campus community.
University Art Museum
In the heart of the CSULB campus, just north of Brotman Hall, the University Art Museum is a resource for students and the community. It is a fully accredited museum focused on The UAM provides free membership for all CSULB students. As an organization that supports cross-disciplinary and diverse programming, we welcome student engagement from all academic programs.
Carpenter Performing Arts Center
The Richard and Karen Carpenter Performing Arts Center, named for the influential and popular musical duo who got their start here at CSULB, is a 1,100-seat performing arts venue that is used by student organizations, local arts producers and non-profit companies for performances, meetings, and lectures. It is also one of the best area venues for seeing national and international performers. The Carpenter Center offers a variety of discounts and affordable options for CSULB students.
Recreation and Wellness Center
The Recreation and Wellness Center (SRWC) is a 126,500-square-foot, two-story, state-of-the-art recreation facility located on the east side of the California State University, Long Beach campus. The facility is a hub for recreational activities, programs, and opportunities for Intramural Sports, Fitness, and Wellness services.
