Benefits of the Program
Students who become PREM scholars are eligible for the following opportunities:
- The opportunity to conduct original research with faculty mentors in Material Science and to interact with professors and graduate students at both CSULB and OSU.
- Employment as a research assistant.
- Support for summer research.
- Opportunities to interact with outstanding researchers at OSU through summer research experiences and site visits.
- Opportunities to present research at national and international conferences (all expenses covered by the program).
- Training in preparing a competitive application package for applying to graduate and Ph.D. programs in Material Science.
Eligibility Requirements
Applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Currently enrolled as an undergraduate or graduate student at CSULB.
- Major in physics, biochemistry, chemistry or mathematics.
- Have identified a research group of interest (See: Research Overview).
- Committed to participating in the program for 12-24 consecutive months.
- U.S. citizen, national or permanent resident.
- Committed to attending a Ph.D. program after graduation.
