Lyzette Blanco, Ph.D., M.P.H.
Lyzette Blanco, Ph.D., M.P.H., is a lecturer in the Department of Health Science at CSULB.
Dr. Blanco teaches courses in statistics and curriculum development. She believes in the importance of engaging students and invites students to connect public health work to their lived experiences. She is also a proud graduate of the CSU system.
Dr. Blanco received her Ph.D. and M.P.H from the School of Community and Global Health (SCGH) at Claremont Graduate University (CGU).
Dr. Blanco’s research focuses on the examination of behavioral, biological, and psychological disparities faced by various populations. Her most recent work has focused on the examination of physical, behavioral, and psychological health outcomes stemming from a history of trauma (e.g., childhood sexual abuse [CSA] and intimate partner violence [IPV]), and means of addressing such histories on a multifaceted level. Additional work included examining population-level data to examine smoking behaviors across ethnic minorities.
