Annette Rodrigues
Annette Rodrigues, MSG, is the Program Manager for the Center for Successful Aging at California State University, Long Beach (CSULB). She is a Master of Science in Gerontology graduate from CSULB and holds a bachelor’s degree in human development and a Certificate in Gerontology also from CSULB. Annette is a Certified Montessori Dementia Care Professional (CMDCP) as well as a Certified RCFE (Residential Care Facility for the Elderly) Administrator. Her Directed Research project and handbook entitled, Montessori-Based Approach for Alzheimer’s and Dementia: Handbook for Implementing Activities in an Adult Day Care Program, was awarded Outstanding Graduate Project by the CSULB College of Health & Human Services for 2023-2024 and has since been published.
Annette was motivated to pursue further education in gerontology after providing care for her mother, who was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease. Her commitment to lifelong learning inspired her to seek a deeper understanding of aging and its related issues, with the goal of utilizing her personal and professional experiences to make a meaningful impact in the field. With a background in gerontology and a diverse set of skills and experiences, Annette brings a unique perspective to her work at the Center, allowing her to provide valuable insights and effective solutions. As Program Manager, she is committed to supporting students, faculty, and community organizations in addressing the challenges facing the aging population and developing solutions that improve quality of life. Annette is also dedicated to preparing the current and future workforce across various disciplines to ensure that they are prepared to meet the needs of an aging population.
