CNSM Faculty Awarded $4.2M NSF Grant for Materials Science Research and Education
California State University, Long Beach (CSULB) faculty led by PI Michael Peterson (Physics and Astronomy) and Co-PIs Jiyeong Gu (Physics and Astronomy) and Ryan Blair (Mathematics and Statistics) have been awarded a 6-year $4.2M grant from the NSF's Partnership for Research and Education in Materials (PREM) program. The grant opens doors to new opportunities for CSULB students in research, education, and broadening participation in materials science.
This grant is a collaboration between the departments of Physics and Astronomy, Chemistry and Biochemistry, and Mathematics and Statistics at CSULB, and the Center for Emergent Materials MRSEC at The Ohio State University (OSU). The OSU team is led by Co-PIs Jay Gupta (Department of Physics, OSU) and Joshua Goldberger (Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry, OSU).
